Next 1: A Humanistic and Artistic Mixed Residential Design

Creating a Unique Living Environment for Future Generations

The Next 1 project, designed by Fu Chu Hsu, is a stunning example of a humanistic and artistic mixed residential design that combines traditional village aesthetics with modern architectural techniques. With its geometric linear frames and overlapping levels of depth, Next 1 introduces a concept of contrast between virtual and reality, creating a unique artistic charm and a rich, exquisite abstract space aesthetic.

Inspired by the idea of humanistic aesthetics, Next 1 aims to create a living environment that can be continued for future generations. The project embraces the concept of a village in traditional life, incorporating it into the community and forming a humanistic living environment. This approach ensures that the design not only meets the needs of the present but also considers the well-being of future residents.

One of the key strengths of Next 1 lies in its use of geometric linear frames and layered overlapping depth of field design techniques. These design elements create a sense of ambiguity and beauty, blurring the boundaries between virtual and reality. The result is a visually captivating space that exudes artistic charm and captivates the senses.

The realization of Next 1 involved careful consideration of the surrounding natural environment and the volume turning configuration of the building. To address the irregular corner-cutting space, the design adopts a geometric linear layout and a layered overlapping depth of field approach. This thoughtful arrangement ensures that the design seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, creating a harmonious and visually appealing composition.

Spanning over 2300 square meters, Next 1 offers a range of unique features and specifications. The project includes a friendly and retreat shopping block with a curved street surface that guides visitors along a continuous path. The open spaces are adorned with multi-layer planting designs that change with the seasons, providing a dynamic and ever-changing landscape. Artistic seats and fashionable store signs further enhance the overall aesthetic appeal.

Next 1 is located in Taichung, Taiwan, and was completed in September 2020. Throughout the design process, the team focused on minimizing the impact on the land and creating a friendly environment. The project incorporates a large area of open space, repeated layers of planting, and pool settings to adjust the microclimate and save energy. By reducing the need for indoor lighting, Next 1 contributes to a friendlier environment and helps alleviate the urban heat island effect.

The Next 1 project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2021. This prestigious accolade recognizes the project's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature. Next 1 stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.

Next 1 is a testament to the power of design to create unique and inspiring living spaces. With its humanistic and artistic approach, this mixed residential design offers a glimpse into the future of architecture and showcases the possibilities of harmonizing tradition with modernity.
